Snow yet again…..it’s a record!

Officially, it has never snowed on April 23rd here in Penticton. Gotta love global warming! Cleaned up my garden, got excited about a “bird oasis” I want to create, muck out the pond and WHAM! Snow. Grrrrrrrr.

Oh well.

I’m still sick and tired of being sick and tired. So I’m called in sick for tonight, and now I’m sitting at my computer, looking out at the blizzard and hoping no baby birds have been born yet…

It is 93 degrees F. in LA today and -3 in Penticton….guess where I want to be? On Wednesday, as I was checking out all the birds come home to nest, I saw bathing suits (with people in them) on the beach! Now, as I stare in disbelief at my garden, the hyacinths are vainly blooming through 2 inches of snow, and all the tulip and narcissus plants are hiding .

Did I mention where I want to be??? Speaking of, my trip was fabulous except for the horrible flu that I was unwittingly incubating burst forth in all its glory on my 4th day. I spent the majority of the rest of my trip in bed….I made myself get up every day for a while though to go out with Tara in her air conditioned PT Cruiser and see some sights. We went to the March Air Museum, the Griffith Park Observatory and Park (with a real, old fashioned carousel!) , Hollywood, the Arboretum. The San Diego Zoo was Fabulous, as was Seaworld. I have put pictures up on my SmugMug site…
